Dehumidify

To remove water from the ambient air, usually through condensation, the use of desiccant materials, or by exchanging air with a drier area.

Desiccant

A substance (such as calcium oxide or silica gel) that is used as a drying agent because of its high affinity to water.

Extraction

Physical removal of water using a pump or vacuum. This includes truck mount vacuums and portable units, usually with a light wand, drag wand, or a weighted extractor.

HEPA

HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air.

HVAC

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. Includes the furnace, air conditioner, ducts, and any other part of the heating and cooling system.
